Her music degrees are from California State Univ. Fullerton, and the University of North Texas College of Music, with extension work in archaeology and poetry and military service during the Persian Gulf War. She currently operates her studio in the North Texas metroplex: publishing, writing, teaching, designing, and audio engineering. This 11-time consecutive recipient of the ASCAP Standard Award in Composition (Symphony/Concert Division) is a composer member of the American Music Center with an active commissions roster. She holds many professional society affiliations and appointments including peer-review boards, administration, past appointment to the National Advisory Committee for Composition for the College Music Society, among others to date. Her composition catalog lists over 80 published works through Buckthorn Music Press (an ASCAP World Member Publisher and elected member of the Music Publishers' Assoc. of the US) with more than 40 manuscripts still in draft or manuscript.
