Her music degrees are from California State U. Fullerton, and the University of North Texas College of Music, with extension work in archaeology and poetry and military service during the Persian Gulf War. She currently operates her studio in the North Texas metroplex: publishing, writing, teaching, designing, and audio engineering. This 9-time consecutive recipient of the ASCAP Standard Award in Composition (Symphony/Concert Division) is a composer member of the American Music Center with an active commissions roster. She holds many professional society affiliations and appointments including peer-review boards, administration, past appointment to the National Advisory Committee for Composition for the College Music Society, among others, to date. Her composition catalog lists over 80 published works through Buckthorn Music Press (an ASCAP World Member Publisher and elected member of the Music Publishers' Assoc. of the US) with more than 40 manuscripts still in draft or manuscript. Of special note, Lynn Job was a poet-in-residence in County Clare, Ireland (April, 1999): a month at Salmon Publishing by the Cliffs of Moher (thereafter published 2001 by the U. of Mary Hardin-Baylor) and participated in Dana Gioia's (Chairman, NEA) 2002 "Teaching Poetry: a symposium for poets & teachers," Santa Rosa, CA. In May, 2001 she assisted exchange students at the National Taiwan College of Arts in Taipei/Panchiao studying Chinese folk instruments and culture. Dr. Job has an interest in ancient music notation (ref: her 2006 composition "Anchored in Perath: an apocalypse" graphic score with poem for solo organ available in the gift shop) and found artifacts for the Israel Museum, Jerusalem as a member of the 1989 Judean Desert Exploration and Excavation Project at the Dead Sea, Cave 37, Ein Feshka (published in Biblical Archaeology Review). As an instructor, she is currently in the adjunct faculty pool, Department of Music, North Central Texas College, and teaching private piano and basic musicianship (all ages).
